Two Fish Are Swimming Along Together

Two fish are swimming along together. A bigger fish comes by and asks “how’s the water?” The two fish nod and keep swimming. A minute later after the bigger fish has passed, one fish looks at the other fish and asks, what the heck is water? 🐠🐟🐟

Sometimes the most important of realities can be the hardest to talk about. How do you explain water to a fish?

It’s a lot like trying to explain health to someone whose health belief system is based on disease management.

Disease management aims to treat symptoms by way of medication with no intent to heal the cause of symptoms. It offers little preventative care and holds a philosophy of wait until sickness comes then treat.

Sometimes medication is necessary, but we should never underestimate the actions we can take to heal or give our bodies the best chance to stay healthy. 80% of chronic disease is lifestyle driven.

We’ve been conditioned by pha$m$ and the medical model to think we need them to intervene for the smallest things when it comes to our health.

We cannot prepare the world for our health we have to prepare our health for the world. 🌎

We’ve really lost sight of this principle. 👀

Relying on outside fixes for an internal problem creates a false sense of security. Ignoring key nutrients, over eating and lack of movement are completely ignored as reasoning behind risk level for disease? It’s become offensive for a care provider to tell a patient their weight is putting them at risk for health problems. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wearing a mask
Over sanitizing
Social distancing
Isolation
Fear
Fast processed food diet
Wait and see unlimited
Is a reasonable approach to health?

Those things all mean zero when there is no commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

Exercise to increase heart rate daily
Eat clean Whole Foods
Take vitamins a min c, d, zinc
Maintain a healthy weight
Practice healthy mindset
Live your life with purpose

There is no greater sense of security than knowing we are creating health within ourselves with the actions we take.

There is no one sized fits all health plan. It doesn’t exist. That’s why we must maintain our freedom in how we choose to live our own lives.
