Google Searches Don't Lie

Google searches don’t lie. Or do they 🤪. A list of the top ten health google searches revealed that the number one health search in 2019 was “How do I lower my blood pressure”.
.
That correlates because the number one killer is still cardiovascular disease, contrary to what others would have you believe. 846,768 people a year die of cardiac disease according to the American College of Cardiology.
.
There are plenty of strategies we can use to lower blood pressure. They are easy to find, 17 are listed in an article by Healthline alone.
.
So many great strategies for all kinds of health concerns that work, if applied. So if the information is there and we know what to do, then the most important question we should be asking is why? Why don’t we do what we know we should when it comes to overcoming health challenges?

If there was a one sized fits all answer to that question I believe a whole lot more people would be enjoying optimum health.
.
So what’s keeping us from taking the actions we know are good for us and in many cases would resolve our health issues? One therapist suggests that it’s because we don’t love ourselves.
.
I’m not an expert on self love, but I like to think it could be simpler than that. If we break it down to patterns, standards and what we think about when we choose to not follow through, we can understand the habits we have that keep us from doing what we know is good for us.
.
Do you start out too extreme? Are you going into the plan with “I have to do this for a limited time only type of thinking?”
.
Are your healthy plans enticing? Are you excited about them?
.
Do you look at unhealthy habits like they are entertainment? Do they help you escape?
.
Are you fulfilled? Do you feel like you are lead by purpose?
.
Are you stuck on activities because they are what you are used to? What kind of enjoyment are you getting from them? How do you feel afterward?
.
What’s your standard of health? Is it acceptable to live with a stomach problem in exchange for the habits?
.
Instead of searching for HOW to on Google maybe we should be spending more time searching for WHY from within.
